ALL players will recall playing at least one shot of equal standing and brilliance. There is however, one aspect which possibly makes any great shot more memorable than any other. This is the timing of the same. For example, a shot to remove a bowl for six shots to win a match with the last delivery on the final end is exactly the same shot when similarly played on the first.

News: Knapper and Walker win England Bowler of the Year awards

Berkshire’s Andrew Knapper was named Taylor Bowls ‘Bowler of the Year’ for 2014 following his double medal haul at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in what was his first appearance in the major championship.
Knapper achieved a pairs bronze with Sam Tolchard and a silver in the fours with John McGuinness, Stuart Airey and Jamie Chestney.
Northamptonshire’s Jamie Walker further enhanced his burgeoning reputation by being named the Bowls International ‘Junior Bowler of the Year’ for 2014 following a unique mixed pairs/mixed fours double at Leamington, plus a semi-final appearance in the men’s singles.

News: Just Retirement agree three year sponsorship deal for the World Indoor Bowls Championship

Last year the specialist retirement income provider was announced as the new sponsor for the World Indoor Bowls Championship, for an initial two year period covering the 2014 and 2015 championships. Following the huge success last year, Just Retirement Limited has agreed a further three year sponsorship deal, as the title sponsor for the World Indoor Bowls Championships hosted at Potters Resort at Hopton-on-Sea on the Norfolk coast.
