News: Death of Julian Haines

Julian Haines died in the early hours of this morning.

The well-known bowler served as an international selector for a number of years and achieved much on the green, including winning the national pairs indoors in 1974 and the gold medal in the Men’s Fours at the 1984 World Bowls Championships in Aberdeen with Tony Allcock, John Bell and George Turley.
He started a company called Julian Haines Bowls Limited in 1998 which is based at the Bournemouth Indoor Bowls Centre.
The accompanying Julian Haines Forum became well known across the bowls community.
Funeral arrangements will follow.
